Meetabit is a platform for creating communities and organizing regular real world events or meetups around topics of interest, such as specific software technologies or areas of business.
We are developing an online service that will enable local communities to organize regular events with minimum effort by helping them identify new topics for talks, find speakers and sponsors. In other words, the organizational work will be offloaded to those contributing to the event. Meetup organizers are almost always volunteers, so minimizing costs in terms of time and money is crucial to them. Similarly, sponsors are often willing to provide the funds, but may not have the time to arrange a venue and catering.
This will in turn allow communities to grow, facilitate better exchange of knowledge within their region and increase collaboration between local community members. Sponsors on the other hand will be able to better promote their HR brand, find new technical and entrepreneurial talent, promote paid events like workshops & conferences and foster closer relationships with the developer and startup community members.
