DevOps Engineer

Our client is a technology-led hedge fund founded in 2015, passionate about collecting, cleaning, transforming, and storing data to feed trading strategies. Its data driven trading models utilize a variety of open-source technologies and multiple data sources, from vendor APIs to fleet of web crawlers running 24/7, to make trading decisions in the global markets. The firm manages assets on behalf of a diverse range of clients including pension plans, insurance companies, financial institutions, family offices, qualified individual investors, among others.
Tasks:
  • Run IT support for the company's local office, ensuring robust infrastructure management and rapid issue resolution
  • Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability
  • Contribute to the architecture and optimization of the cloud infrastructure to support scalability and security of the operations
  • Collaborate with global IT teams to align local systems with the company's broader technology strategy
  • Implement best practices in DevOps and platform engineering to support continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) and infrastructure as code (IaC) initiatives
  • Document system configurations, updates, and processes to reference in future incidents and ensure compliance with industry standards
Must-have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in IT support, DevOps/GitOps, and platform engineering
  • A self-starter with an organized and methodical approach to problem solving through attention to detail and a proven ability to build relationships with internal and external, technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Advanced diagnostic/troubleshooting skills in Windows, Office
  • Strong understanding of public cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), including security and management aspects
  • Recent experience with AWS
  • Knowledge of scripting and programming languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.)
  • Experience with automation tools (such as FluxCD, ArgoCD, Ansible, or Terraform)
  • Fluent in English. Maintains excellent verbal communication skills and can communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues at all organizational levels
Nice-to-have:
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft, AWS, Network, CISSP)
  • Experience with Docker/Kubernetes
  • Interest in financial markets and trading
