Its data driven trading models utilize a variety of open-source technologies and multiple data sources, from vendor APIs to fleet of web crawlers running 24/7, to make trading decisions in the global markets. The firm manages assets on behalf of a diverse range of clients including pension plans, insurance companies, financial institutions, family offices, qualified individual investors, among others.
Description
Tasks:
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of investment research teams' data needs and provide the right solution to them
- Develop, test, and optimize Python data applications, frameworks, and services
- Collaborate with technologists and researchers to align data applications and platforms with evolving business needs
- Write and review technical documentation, including requirements for researchers and proposals for platform enhancements, as well as production support guidelines
- Frequently take the lead on production support operations
Must-have:
- Bachelor’s in a technology-related field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, etc.)
- Strong skills in programming in Python in a Data Engineering context
- Experience as a project manager on data projects
- Proficiency in Relational database engineering and NoSQL database engineering
- Strong analytic and strategic thinking skills
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with any of the following systems/tools: Apache Airflow, Docker, Kubernetes
