Description
The Head of Production and Operations is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the end-to-end production process and operations within our company. As the Head of Production and Operations, you will have the opportunity to work closely with talented teams, leverage cutting-edge technologies, and contribute to the production of groundbreaking projects. With your strong industry knowledge and leadership skills, you will shape and drive production and operational strategies, optimizing workflows to deliver exceptional quality within project timelines and budget constraints. You will steer the production ship as a captain, directly controlling producers, leads and project managers, guiding and developing them in order to achieve higher standards and push the boundaries of our successes.
Tasks:
- Management of Producers and Project Managers, tasked with overseeing content creation and project operations
- Guiding the team members to reach agreed-upon goals and achieve company revenue and profit targets
- Assisting and overseeing building and maintaining project plans, schedules, and roadmaps. Ensure the various teams are on track with their deliverables.
- Communicating frequently and effectively with clients and managers on project status, risks, and opportunities.
- Providing regular updates to senior management regarding the current statuses, challenges, and actions related to the overall production capabilities and workflow.
- Tracking, planning and prioritizing resources to ensure the best possible output of the production teams in accordance with the overall company strategy.
- Ensuring cross-department visibility is clear and dependencies are properly tracked. Maintaining the harmony between different departments and their key people, guiding and supporting them in reaching the company goals and objectives.
- Contributing to the development and refinement of the production management processes to increase studio efficiency and quality.
- Serving as a mentor and providing leadership, information, and resources to new and existing production team members.
- Effectively leveraging and contributing to the development of new tools and processes to enhance productivity, track and monitor resources, conduct analysis, and facilitate forecasting activities.
Must-have:
- Extensive experience in production management and leadership roles, with at least 5-7 years of experience in a similar or higher position
- Experience shipping Console, PC and mobile games and/or Art from conception to release
- Proven management experience with a deep understanding of game and art production
- Excellent organizational and planning skills to manage various projects simultaneously, often with tight deadlines and changing priorities
- Proficiency in budget development and management, including cost estimation, tracking, and optimization
- Expertise in common Production methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) as well as software (Jira, Shotgun, Excel, Project, Confluence, or equivalents)
- Ability to identify potential risks, develop strategies to mitigate them, and ensure compliance with the company strategies
- Strong collaboration and negotiation skills, as the head of production works closely with various internal teams, such as creative, operations, and finance
- Proactive approach to problem-solving, ability to think critically, and make decisions under pressure
- Good understanding of game development, software development processes, and project management practices
- Ability to self-prioritize and execute with minimal supervision as well as leading by example
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong English skills
- Fluent in Estonian or Russian
