Senior DevOps Engineer

Remote or Berlin, Germany
Founded in 2018, is a venture capital-backed SaaS Start-Up based in Berlin, Germany, operating globally. The mission is to enable businesses to exceed quality promises and to make workplaces safe.
Tasks:
  • Work on all levels of the tech stack, from Laravel and MySQL on the backend to preparing infrastructure for your code to run (see complete tech stack in requirements section below)
  • Involvement in the end-to-end lifecycle of new features and changes, from concept to deployment
  • Participating in technical discussions, research, and innovations
  • Help the development team solve infrastructure scalability and reliability problems and make infrastructure more robust and redundant
  • Setting up servers and services, configuring clusters for growing software application needs
  • Tasks will be prepared by the Product Manager and UI/UX Designer and split into two weeks of scrum sprints
  • Work closely with highly experienced CTO and Senior team members, learning and sharing knowledge with the team
  • Collaborate with QA engineers that will provide support in the development of reliable code

Must-have:

  • Good experience with typical web development services, like queues, caching, web servers, CI, external APIs, background jobs, and monitoring systems
  • Experience installing and configuring services such as CI, MySQL, Nginx, Redis, rabbitMQ, supervisor, PHP-FPM, proxy and caching, and solutions for logs as ELK stack or monitoring systems
  • Proficient in writing Bash shell scripts
  • Mac or Linux is an operating system; good experience with Unix on the server as well. Servers and microservices are running on Debian/Ubuntu Linux
Nice-to-have:
  •  Passionate about making tech infrastructure scalable and maintainable for the product and dev team's needs
  •  Experience with PHP frameworks, such as Symfony is a big plus
  •  Experience with DB engines, such as PostgreSQL, MariaDB, or Mongo is a big plus
  •  Some broad experience with other dev-ops tools, such as Ansible, Terraform, and Kubernetes is a big plus
